Using Sumari with Zoom

Last updated: July 2026

Overview

Sumari sends a notetaker to your Zoom meeting as a visible participant. It records the call, then generates a transcript, summary, action items, and decisions in your Sumari dashboard.

Before you start

  • A Sumari account — sign up or sign in at not-iq-murex.vercel.app/login.
  • Consent from the meeting participants to record — you are responsible for obtaining it.

Add the notetaker to a Zoom meeting

  1. 1Open your Sumari dashboard.
  2. 2Copy your Zoom meeting’s join link (e.g. https://zoom.us/j/123456789?pwd=…). Keep the full link, including the pwd part.
  3. 3Paste it into the “Invite Sumari Notetaker” box on the dashboard and press Send.
  4. 4Alternatively, connect your calendar (Settings → Calendar) and enable auto-record so Sumari joins scheduled Zoom meetings for you automatically.
  5. 5If your meeting uses a waiting room, admit the “Sumari Notetaker” participant when it requests to join.

During the meeting

The notetaker appears in the participant list as “Sumari Notetaker” — a visible participant — and records the meeting. Participants can see it is present at all times.

After the meeting

Once the call ends and processing finishes, open the meeting in your Sumari dashboard to find the transcript, summary, action items, and decisions. Action items appear on your Action Board; decisions appear in the Decision Registry.

Remove the notetaker from a meeting

  1. 1As the Zoom host, open the Participants list, find “Sumari Notetaker”, and choose Remove; or
  2. 2From your Sumari dashboard, open the in-progress meeting and use the option to remove/stop the notetaker.

Remove Sumari's access to Zoom

To disconnect Sumari from your Zoom account entirely:

  1. 1Go to marketplace.zoom.us and sign in.
  2. 2Click ManageAdded Apps.
  3. 3Find Sumari in the list and click Remove.

This revokes Sumari’s access to your Zoom account.
