Using Samari with Microsoft Teams
Last updated: July 2026
Overview
Samari sends a notetaker to your Microsoft Teams meeting as a visible participant. It records the call, then generates a transcript, summary, action items, and decisions in your Samari dashboard — exactly like Google Meet and Zoom.
The notetaker joins by meeting link as an anonymous guest. There is no app to install and no Microsoft/Teams account to connect.
Add the notetaker to a Teams meeting
- Copy your Teams meeting join link (work/school links look like teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/…; personal links look like teams.live.com/meet/<number>).
- Paste it into the “Invite Samari Notetaker” box on the dashboard and press Send.
- Or connect your Google Calendar (Settings → Calendar) and enable auto-record — Samari auto-joins Teams meetings on your calendar too. (Add the Teams link to the calendar event’s location or description.)
The Teams lobby
Teams often places guests in a lobby until a host admits them, so the Samari notetaker may wait there until someone lets it in. It will appear in the participant list as “Sumari Notetaker” requesting to join.
For silent auto-join, the meeting organiser can set Meeting options → “Who can bypass the lobby?” → Everyone, and the notetaker will join without needing to be admitted.
